La Royante

La Royante is a charming Bed and Breakast in a private country manor ideally located between Cassis, Aix and Marseille. The 18th century “bastide” and its gothic chapel lie in a vast garden with a swimming pool and an olive grove. The park itself rests in a peaceful valley surrounded by ageless pine trees.

The choice is yours : listening to the soothing pitter-patter of the fountain and the song of the cicadas; relaxing by the pool; admiring the wind over the olive grove; succumbing to the fragrances of lavender and rosemary; meditating in the coolness of the chapel; indulging a provençal breakfast under the shade of a fig tree; escaping to the Calanques (Fjords) of Cassis; burrowing through antique shops in Aix; hiking in the hills on the footsteps of Marcel Pagnol… You’re out of time, but so deeply in Provence.

La Royante features an exclusive choice of three charming guest rooms, as well as a kitchen and guest room at the guests' disposal. Sophie, back to France after 10 years in Asia, will share with you her passion for the region and help you discover its hidden treasures.

Three large guest rooms (roughly 30 sq. meters) are available for Bed & Breakfast : the Sacristy, Saint Catherine and Saint Thomas rroms.
They feature the following characteristics :

Private garden terrace (Sacristy and Saint-Catherine rooms)

King size beds: 1,80m x 2m

Private bathroom and restroom

Direct and separate access to the park and the swimming pool

Free Wifi and Internet Access

The antique furnishing, acquired here and there in Provence, provides a special atmosphere. Sometimes an Asian souvenir... Breakfast is served on the terrace, in the shade of the fig tree. Our guests can also enjoy relaxing in the guest’s lounge, prepare meals in the guests’ kitchen, or meditate in the chapel.

Sacristy

Formerly the priest's apartments,it has direct access to the chapel. Possesses a chimney and a terrace facing the sunset and the century-old pine trees.

Saint Catherine

This spacious room, with a large bathroom, displays a panoramic view on the garden and the century-old trees. A private terrace and well-equipped modern kitchen (ovens, laundry machine and dishwasher) allows use as an independent apartment

Saint Thomas

The Saint-Thomas room is located on the first floor, which makes it ideal in conjunction with the Sacristy room below for families. Its bathroom opens on the chapel’s stained glass window

Breakfast

Breakfast (included) is served on the terrace, in the shade of the fig tree . Beyond traditional French pastries ( croissant, pain au chocolat or pain aux raisins), you can taste Provence cheeses topped with La Royante’s organic olive oil.

The kitchens are equipped with oven, microwave oven, a refrigerator and crockery for meal preparation
The neo-gothic chapel integrated within the bastide date back from 1871 (see Wikipédia) : cool air and calmness, silence far from work and agitation… For a soothing instant while listening to a cantata by Bach or simply enjoying silence...

Swimming-Pool and Garden

La Royantes's swimming pool is available should you wish to cool down, or simply enjoy a moment's worth of rest in the long-chairs near the waterside.
You can also relax in the garden,rest in the shade of the century-old pine trees and enjoy the fragrances of Provence.
